Getting Started Guide

Audience: New users

Welcome to ScaffolderJS! This guide will help you create your first website in minutes.

Creating a New Site

From your Dashboard, you have three ways to start a new project:

1. 🚀 Create Site as Outline (~1 min)

Best for: Most users. This method uses AI to plan a custom site structure for you.

  1. Click Create site as outline.
  2. Enter your Business Name and a short Description (e.g., "A modern coffee shop in Seattle specializing in cold brew").
  3. Choose a Theme Style (e.g., Professional, Modern, Creative).
  4. The AI will generate a complete sitemap (Home, About, Menu, Contact) tailored to your business.
  5. You can then review and edit the content in the Site Builder.

2. 🪄 Create Complete Site (~5 mins)

Best for: Users who want a fully-finished site immediately.

  1. Click Create complete site.
  2. Select a pre-built Template.
  3. The system will build a complete site with placeholder content.
  4. You can then replace the text and images with your own.

3. 🌐 Create Site from URL

Best for: Users upgrading an existing website.

  1. Click Create site from URL.
  2. Enter the Web Address (URL) of your existing site.
  3. The system will scan your old site, extract the text and contact info, and rebuild it using modern components.
  4. The system automatically detects and migrates legal pages (like Terms and Privacy) and safely places them in the footer.
  5. Note: Images and complex layouts may not copy perfectly, but your core content will be preserved.

Next Steps

Once your site is created, you will be taken to the Site Builder.

  1. Edit Content: Click on any text or image to change it.
  2. Add Sections: Use the "Add Section" button to add new features like Testimonials, Galleries, or Contact Forms.
  3. Duplicate & Transform: You can duplicate existing sections you like or even transform a section's type into another layout directly using AI!
  4. Customize Design: Use the paint brush icon to change colors and fonts.
  5. Publish: Your site is automatically saved. Use the Preview button to see it live.
